The method
A good online consultation does not start or end with the video call. This is how your case is handled:
You book and attach your reports and scans (OCT, visual fields, fundus photos, corneal topography) or diagnoses from other specialists and hospitals. The doctor reviews your full history before the call, so no clinical time is lost during the session.
Time just for you to explain your symptoms, how they have changed, the treatments you have had, your questions and what you expect from treatment.
After the call, the doctor goes back over your scans in the light of your conversation and writes a report with her clinical opinion and the next steps.
If your case is complex or you have questions after reading the report, a second video call with the doctor is included in the same fee.
Practical guide
The more information the doctor has before the call, the more useful the consultation. You do not need everything: send what you have.
Reports from other ophthalmologists, discharge letters, surgical reports and current treatments.
Macula or optic nerve scans. The full report is better than a screenshot.
Retinal photographs and photos of the front of the eye taken at a clinic.
Humphrey, Octopus or similar. If you have older ones, send them too so the doctor can see progression.
Pentacam, topographer or biometer reports: useful for keratoconus, refractive and cataract surgery.
Blood tests or rheumatology, neurology or endocrinology reports when they relate to your eye problem.
Encrypted connection (HTTPS) and confidential handling of your health data under the EU GDPR. Only the doctor can see your files.
Request
It takes about 5 minutes. At the end you will see the payment details and, once payment is confirmed, you will get a link to choose a day and time.

Over video it is not possible to measure eye pressure, examine the eye with a slit lamp or dilate the pupil to look at the retina. That is why the consultation relies on the tests you already have. It is very useful for second opinions, interpreting scans, deciding about surgery and follow-up, but it does not replace a full examination when one is needed. If that is your case, the doctor will tell you.
The doctor will tell you clearly and explain which test or examination is missing and where you can have it, near home or in Santander. Once you have the result, you can discuss it in the follow-up call, which is included.
You will receive an email with a personal link. At the time of your appointment you open it on your computer, tablet or phone. Nothing to install and no account needed: just allow camera and microphone. We send a reminder the day before and you can add the appointment to your calendar.
Because many questions come up later, when you read the report calmly or talk it over with your family, and because the doctor sometimes needs to see a new test before finalising her advice. The follow-up call covers all of that within the same fee.
Your data and files are sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and stored in a private area of the server, outside the public website. Only the doctor can see them from her password-protected panel. They are covered by medical confidentiality and the EU GDPR, and video calls are not recorded.
The online consultation costs €150 and includes the review of your tests, the video call of about 30 minutes, the report and the follow-up call if needed. Payment is by bank transfer (international transfers accepted). After sending your case you will see the bank details and your reference.
Yes. You can book from any country and have the consultation in English, Spanish or French. When you choose a time you will also see it in your local time zone. If you later decide to have treatment in Santander, she will guide you.
Send your scans today. The doctor will study them before speaking with you.
